Parliament's Benches

On this we were commissioned by a local Restoration company to create a complementary patina on a newly upholstered section of the bench and match the colour and the finish to  the existing and remaining section.
This we did by using specialised coatings and to affect the finish and age we used pigmented waxes mixed with caranauba.
This lead to bigger and greater things. In the second year of lockdown Hideworks was invited to colour restore the green benches in the Commons chamber at the Palace of Westminster, which I took great pride in doing. Probably the highlight of our working professional career. More so because I have indelible memories of visiting these historic set of buildings in my childhood with my mum and dad. Some of the greatest craftsmanship in the world is there to be seen and to have a chance to ply my trade in the same building was very humbling.
